BDO Zone Rating

CanExport now supports applications targeted to acquiring a BDO Zone Rating. This rating is an independent, internationally recognized assessment that evaluates a region's biomass supply, logistics, and infrastructure to determine its suitability for new biofuel and biomanufacturing facilities. Often described as a credit rating for biomass development potential, it provides a trusted signal that helps communities stand out to developers and investors. Communities interested in exploring eligibility or learning how a BDO Zone Rating could support local economic development are encouraged to contact Justin Bryce at justin@ecostrat.com for guidance.

Connecting the Dots with Paths to Prosperity Summit Partners in 2026

We are excited to announce that the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) will join SEDA and SIEDN in co-delivering the Paths to Prosperity Summit this year - October 26-28 in Saskatoon.

Our theme this year “Connecting the Dots” reflects the comprehensive economic development space which communities operate in today. The Paths to Prosperity Provincial Summit will bring together elected officials, administrators, economic development officers, and recreation and parks professionals and practitioners and invite them to ‘connect the dots’. By linking communities, innovators, funders, and community builders in the same room, we will create an environment for turning promising ideas into realistic initiatives that impact the economic, health, social and environmental systems at the local, regional and provincial levels.

Who is SIEDN? Established in 2012, the Saskatchewan Indigenous Economic Development Network promotes and supports the sustainable economic livelihood of Saskatchewan Indigenous communities through building capacity, relationships and knowledge.

Who is SPRA? Everything that the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association does is about creating a Saskatchewan where all people experience a better quality of life through parks and recreation. Actions are aimed to improve access, connect health and wellbeing and increase the value and investment in parks and recreation.
