Local Food Infrastructure Fund - Large Projects Stream. Applications accepted until February 28.
We encourage ALL communities to look at this fund which will end in 2027. The large stream fund is now open with the small stream fund to open sometime in 2025.
The LFIF aims to support locally-driven projects that will help improve community food security through the purchase and installation of infrastructure/equipment that will increase access to local, nutritious and culturally appropriate food.
Priority will be given to projects that predominantly serve equity-deserving groups, particularly those that are led by or focus on Indigenous and Black communities.
Engaging local education institutions and/or community based organizations to collaborate in year round green-housing - possibly combined with a youth entrepreneurship curriculum ( to sell product) is an example of a potential project.
