SEDA Launches Sask Insider App to Drive Exploration and Local Commerce in the Province

468 Communications provides technology that any community can use to affordably create their own mobile app to incentivize visits to local destinations and shopping at local businesses

The Saskatchewan Economic Development Alliance (SEDA) is excited to announce the availability of technology for communities to easily and cost-effectively create their own, branded mobile apps to reward local exploration and shopping. Called Sask Insider, powered by 468 Communications, the platform allows communities to create incentives for people to visit their local attractions and make purchases at local businesses.

“The past year has brought unprecedented change with significant economic impact,” said Verona Thibault, CEO for SEDA. “To rebound, our communities and the business within them need to find creative ways to spark economic growth. Sask Insider is an innovative and affordable solution to not only promote communities’ unique assets but reward everybody for visiting and supporting those assets.”

Communities that purchase a Sask Insider license can create their own branded app, with a customized look and feel, locations, and content. The more places visited using Sask Insider apps, the more points earned. Users redeem their points at local businesses, which drives sales if those rewards are tied to purchases.

These apps can be managed and dynamically updated with an easy-to-use online control panel. The control panel provides access to valuable data, including where app users are from, and which local establishments are popular to visitors.
