Local Food Infrastructure Fund (LFIF) Now Open
The application intake period will be open May 4, 2023 until May 31, 2023. Eligible applicants include those organizations located in rural communities (population under 1,000); small cities (population between 1,000-29,999); Indigenous groups in either urban centres or rural areas (for example, Indigenous governments/communities and Indigenous not-for-profit organizations) Examples of Infrastructure that Could be Requested to Strengthen the Local Food System: Greenhouse, Gardens and fencing, Irrigation system for blueberry fields, Food forest of edible plants, Slaughtering and butchering equipment, Kitchen equipment/appliances, Smokehouse, Fridges and freezers, Refrigerated truck, Snowmobile and boat for hunting/fishing and Composting equipment.
