National Indigenous Peoples Day

June 21 is set aside to recognize and celebrate the heritage, culture and contributions of our Indigenous peoples. SEDA is committed to inclusive economic development and implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.

In acknowledgment of this annual celebration, here are two new initiatives supporting Indigenous business and community development.

  • Honouring Her Spark: A Saskatchewan Indigenous Women's Economic Framework is the first of three phases to build greater economic resiliency and health for Indigenous women. Read and share the Framework.
  • A Guide for Indigenous Investors. This new guide will assist Indigenous investors in aligning their investment policies in ways that build on stewardship protocols and traditions that have supported Indigenous communities for generations. Read more

Saskatchewan Shop Local

A new provincial online marketplace has launched which includes fulfillment services for Saskatchewan based businesses. This could be an option for local businesses to get online now! Check it out here.

 

 

Postmedia Grant available for marketing

Tourism operators are encouraged to apply for a local marketing grant available to Canadian businesses, not for profits and charities that operate within 100 km of communities served by Postmedia. Grants of $500-$15,000 are available for June to August. Find out more here.
