Join Us for the Community Safety & Well-Being Forum | October 26
Communities across Saskatchewan are facing increasingly complex challenges, from housing insecurity and mental health concerns to substance use, public safety pressures, and social isolation. While no single organization can solve these issues alone, communities that work together across sectors are achieving better outcomes for residents.
That's why SEDA, with the support of forum sponsor Ministry of Justice, is bringing together municipal leaders, community organizations, First Nations, health professionals, law enforcement, educators, and regional partners for the Community Safety & Well-Being Forum on October 26.
This interactive forum will explore how communities can move beyond reacting to issues and instead develop collaborative, proactive strategies that address root causes and improve quality of life for everyone.
Why Community Safety & Well-Being Planning Matters
Community Safety & Well-Being(CSWB) Planning is not just about reducing crime. It is about creating the conditions that allow people, families, businesses, and communities to thrive.
A comprehensive CSWB approach helps communities:
- Identify local risks, priorities, and opportunities.
- Strengthen partnerships between organizations and agencies.
- Improve coordination of services and resources.
- Address issues before they become crises.
- Build safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.
- Enhance economic vitality by creating places where people want to live, work, invest, and raise families.
Communities that embrace this collaborative model often find that they can achieve better outcomes while making more effective use of limited resources.

Forum participants will hear practical examples, learn from communities already undertaking CSWB initiatives, and explore tools and approaches that can be adapted to local circumstances.
