October 1 is the deadline for our annual awards nominations. This year we have 3 categories for communities and organizations to nominate in with options for entries serving a population base under and over 10,000. Download the Awards Packet and nominate a project and/or marketing initiative. Consider recognizing one of your professionals or leaders for a Lifetime Achievement Award. All award recipients will take part in a virtual presentation which will be played during our conference November 24-25 as well as shared via social media and digital channels.

National Truth & Reconciliation Week Sept 27 to October 1
We encourage our members to learn more about Truth and Reconciliation this week. Here are a few examples of how you could participate:: -wear an orange shirt -read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action -watch films or documentaries about the ongoing impacts of residential schools -read books or poetry by Indigenous authors -listen to the stories of survivors and their families -learn about the communities whose land you live on. The SEDA office will be closed on September 30 in recognition of National Truth & Reconcilation Day and will reopen on Friday October 1.
