Gull Lake is situated on two major highways: Highway #37 from the U.S. border north to Cabri and the TransCanada (#1) highway. There is a scheduled bus courier transport and Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Gull Lake perfectly situated for business with easy access to larger communities such as Swift Current to the east or Medicine Hat to the west and other areas north and south on Hwy 37.
Farming ranching oil and gas still form the basis of the local economy; there are two inland grain terminals; and numerous oil businesses pump jacks gas wells and battery sites which dot the landscape. Wind power is another important energy resource that is being developed within the Gull Lake area.
The Town Council of Gull Lake along with the Economic Development Committee are working diligently on growth development and sustainability mandate.
