The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes honors inspiring, public-spirited, highly diverse young people from all across the U.S. and Canada.
Each year , the Barron Prize honors outstanding young leaders ages eight to 18 who have shown leadership and courage in developing and implementing an extraordinary service project that has made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, and the environment. The project must clearly benefit other people, our fellow creatures, or the planet we share.
The 25 winners each receive a $5,000 cash award to support their service work or higher education.
While outside help may have been obtained, the activity must be largely the winner’s own creation. The service activity cannot have been done primarily to complete an assignment for work or school.
