Why This Matters Now
Every day, your organization spends money.
But do you know:
- How much stays in your local economy?
- Where value is leaving your region?
- How your procurement decisions shape community economic health?
Most organizations don’t—and that’s the gap Economic NutritionCM is designed to fill.
What is Economic NutritionCM?
Economic NutritionCM is a third-party certification program developed by Shorefast that shows:
- Where your money goes (local, provincial, national, international)
- What your money pays for (labour, suppliers, operations, etc.)
It translates complex financial and supply chain data into a simple, trusted “label”—similar to a nutrition label on food.
This gives you a powerful tool to:
- Guide internal decision-making
- Build trust with customers, partners, and investors
- Demonstrate your contribution to local economic resilience
- Join the Southeast Saskatchewan Cohort
Through this initiative, SEDA is leading a regional, cohort-based program designed specifically for organizations in Southeast Saskatchewan.
Over a three-month period, you will:
- Work alongside other businesses and organizations in your region
- Receive hands-on support from Shorefast and SEDA
- Build your own certified Economic NutritionCM label
This cohort model creates shared learning, regional collaboration, and real momentum.
What You’ll Walk Away With
By the end of the program, you will have:
- A certified Economic NutritionCM label based on your actual spending
- Clear insights into how your dollars move through the economy
- Opportunities to strengthen local suppliers and partnerships
- A compelling way to communicate your impact
- Access to a national network focused on place-based development
Who Should Apply
This program is a strong fit for:
- Businesses (SMEs) looking to strengthen supply chains and local sourcing
- Non-profits seeking to better demonstrate community impact
- Municipalities and public sector organizations working to retain regional value
If your organization is thinking about growth, resilience, or impact—this program is for you.
